Belgium (Flemish Community)

Higher education comprises the following programmes:

  • programmes organised by higher vocational education that lead to an associate degree, NQF Flanders 5
  • programmes which lead to the degree of Bachelor, NQF Flanders 6;
  • programmes which lead to the degree of Master, NQF Flanders 7;
  • the degree of Doctor, NQF Flanders 8;
  • programmes which may be rounded off with a postgraduate certificate;
  • continuing education, shorter courses for advanced and in-service training purposes;
  • the integrated teacher-training programmes (Bachelor in education: nursery education, Bachelor in education: primary education and Bachelor in education: secondary education) and the specific teacher-training programmes organised by university colleges & universities, which lead to the diploma of teacher (diploma van leraar).
