Czechia

Country: Czechia

Programmes taught in Czech at public universities are free whatever your nationality, while English-taught ones usually charge tuition – at Charles University €40–30,620 a year. Czechia has more than 50 higher education institutions and over 1,000 programmes in English, and non-EU students on accredited full-time programmes need no work permit. Learn when applications close and how far €500–800 a month goes.

Czech higher education has three cycles:

  • Bachelor (bakalářský) – usually 3–4 years,
  • Master (magisterský) – usually 1–3 years after a bachelor's degree, or a single-cycle programme of 4–6 years (e.g. medicine, law),
  • Doctorate (doktorský) – usually 3–4 years.

The academic year is split into a winter and a summer semester. Most programmes start in September.

Czechia – bachelor's programmes
Czechia – integrated (single-cycle) programmes
Czechia – master's programmes
