Malta

Country: Malta

EU students on full-time bachelor's programmes at the University of Malta, MCAST and ITS pay no tuition fees, while non-EU students pay – e.g. €8,500 a year for a BA in History at UM. The University of Malta has around 1,900 international students from 127 countries, and English is enough for most casual jobs. Find out where to look for housing and what around €900–1,400 a month covers.

The system is based on the European Qualifications Framework:

  • Bachelor – 3–4 years; for example, a BA in History at UM takes 3 years and 180 ECTS,
  • Master – 1–2 years,
  • Doctorate (PhD) – 3–4 years.

The academic year at the University of Malta starts in October. Besides a full degree, you can also come on an Erasmus+ exchange or for a summer or language course.

Malta – bachelor's programmes
Malta – integrated (single-cycle) programmes
Malta – master's programmes
