Full-time programmes in Slovak at public universities are free whatever your nationality, while programmes in English cost €500–12,200 a year according to SAIA. Slovakia has 20 public, 3 state and 11 private institutions with more than 5,000 programmes, and a minimum budget is around €350 a month. Learn when to apply, how your school certificate is recognised and how many hours you can work while studying.
The faculty decides on admission. For many programmes you take an entrance exam; at arts institutions, an aptitude exam.
Some faculties in Slovakia and Czechia replace or supplement their own exams with the National Comparative Exams (NSZ), run by the company Scio. They take place seven times a year, also online. The faculty's admission conditions tell you whether it accepts them.
