Greece

Country: Greece

Greek-taught bachelor's programmes at public universities are free for EU and non-EU students alike, while English-taught programmes charge fees – for non-EU students €5,000–15,000 a year for a bachelor's. All 24 Greek universities are public, and those who meet the criteria eat in student canteens for free. See how admission works, what a month costs (around €700–1,200) and where seasonal jobs are easiest to find.

There are few full scholarships for international students. Your options include:

  • university scholarships – every Greek university has its own programmes,
  • joint and double degrees with foreign universities – often with scholarships,
  • the scholarship platform of Study in Greece – mainly for short stays and exchanges,
  • Erasmus+ – a semester or year in Greece as part of an exchange with your home university,
  • Erasmus Mundus – joint master's programmes run by several universities, with a scholarship for the whole programme.

Don't forget the free canteen meals for students who meet the criteria (see: Tuition fees).
