United Kingdom

One UCAS application with up to five choices gets you into undergraduate study at almost every UK university, including the 24 Russell Group members such as Oxford and Cambridge. Since Brexit, EU citizens count as international students unless they are Irish or have settled or pre-settled status, and a Student visa lets you work up to 20 hours a week in term time. See the deadlines, fees and visa funds you need.

There are few scholarships for a full undergraduate degree for international students. You have several options:

  • university scholarships – you will find an overview in the UCAS scholarship search and on universities' websites,
  • Chevening – the UK government's scholarship for one-year master's programmes, open to citizens of Chevening-eligible countries; applications for 2027/28 close on 6 October 2026 at 11:00 (UTC),
  • Student Finance loans – for tuition and living costs, but only for students with home fee status (e.g. settled status and 3 years' residence in the UK).
