"Emphasizing Commonalities or Differences: New Perspectives on European-Latin American Relations" - the seminar will explore the current relationship between Europe and Latin America, considering the political, economic and social dimensions of their interaction.
The program will consist of lectures, panel discussions and seminars, as well as cultural and social activities.
Issues to be discussed will include:
- EU-LAC Summits (May 2010, Summit Madrit);
- Opportunities faced by regional organisations in Latin America;
- Gender equality in Latin American countries in the political sphere;
- The migrations of Latin Americans to Europe;
- Latin American literature as an instrument of cultural diplomacy.
Conference will take place in Berlin from 12th - 17th September 2010.
