Polé Polé Festivals
Polé Polé means "take it easy" in Swahili, and that's what this exotic summer music festival is all about. The first half of the tropical festival takes place in Ghent in July and the second half in Zeebrugge in August.
In Ghent, the stage is set up across the river Leie, and audiences can
enjoy the action for free from giant pontoons. In Zeebrugge, a stylish
festival village located right on the beach includes two stages, four
dance halls, circus animations, brass bands, souks, cocktail bars and
food stalls.
Past festivals have included performances by Cuban, Senegalese, Jamaican and Colombian bands.
