Norwich Beer Festival
First held in 1978 and arranged by the Norwich branch of CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale), the week-long Norwich Beer Festival returns to St Andrew's & Blackfriars' Halls, celebrating more than 200 British cask-conditioned real ales and bottled brews.
The festival also incorporates the Cider & Perry Exhibition, first
held in 1999, which boasts over 25 varieties from East Anglia and the
West Country (what apples are to cider, pears are to perry). Every year
there is a competition for a festival logo.
Food and pub games,
including a tombola, are all included, as is a Marquee (housing the
bottled beers). No cash is accepted over the beer or cider bars; patrons
must purchase their glass (pint or half pint) and beer tokens when they
arrive; entry is restricted to over 18s only.
