New Year's Eve in Madrid
See in the New Year Spanish-style by gobbling grapes in Madrid. Every year on Nochevieja, huge crowds gather in the Puerta del Sol and everyone eats 12 grapes in time with the 12 strokes of midnight.
The clock on the Casa de Correos chimes in the New Year. Traditionally,
each grape-gobble symbolises a month of the year ahead. It's harder than
it sounds, so expect lots of laughter and mess! Watch out for the TV
cameras too, as this New Year's Eve scene in Madrid is broadcast on TV
all over the country.
