Vasaloppet
Thousands of cross-country skiers congregate in the Dalarna region for the traditional Vasaloppet race, 90km from Sälen to Mora. Elite racers compete for prizes and prestige, while "fun skiers" just try to reach the finish by early evening.
The race has been held every year since 1922. Activities and
entertainment take place for a whole week beforehand. If you can't make
the real thing, catch it on national TV instead.
