Singer-songwriter Joan As Police Woman performs at London's Barbican Centre. Also known as Joan Wasser, the hugely talented and original artist plays material from her eagerly anticipated third album, The Deep Field.
By the time multi-instrumentalist and earthy vocalist Joan As Police Woman released her brilliant 2006 debut album, Real Life,
she had already played with artists including Rufus Wainwright and
Antony and the Johnsons. Drawing on all her experience she and her band
produced a collection of soulful songs, remarkably strong, vulnerable
and honest throughout.
