Angel Sunday
The Sunday after Easter is known as Angel Sunday (Domingo del Ángel) in Mallorca. Centuries ago, this festival centred on the blessing of bread for the poor. Nowadays, residents of Palma de Mallorca gather at Bellver Castle to share food.
Hundreds of locals walk from the town hall to the castle, where the food
is brought out and enjoyed. There's also plenty of entertainment, in
the shape of castellers (human pyramids), merry music, costumed parades and games for children.
