Carnival of Cultures
Berlin's Carnival of Cultures street party and parade celebrates the German capital's multicultural spirit with music and dancing in the Kreuzberg district. Exotic food and drinks add to the atmosphere and around half a million people join in the fun.
The Carnival of Cultures began as a street parade of masqueraders,
musicians, dancers, DJs and artists and has now escalated into a slickly
impressive extravaganza with a great programme both on- and off-stage.
Carnival
groups from more than 70 countries dance through the streets of
Kreuzberg, Berlin's most international district. Most activities take
place around Blücherplatz and the main parade normally runs down
Gneisenaustrasse.
