Ischgl Ironbike

Athletes with calves of steel compete for €20,000 in prize money at the Ischgl Ironbike mountain biking race through the Alps. The 79km-long course, with an altitude difference of 3820 metres, features demanding tracks, steep climbs and rapid descents.

Each year around 1000 people take part in the race, which starts in Ischgl and works its way towards Samnaun in Switzerland.

If you're not up to the top challenges then there are also less demanding courses which you can sign up for. Or, of course, you can always just cheer on the others and watch from the sidelines.
