Illuminating York

York is one of England's most beautiful cities, but during Illuminating York it takes on a special glow. For this innovative festival, the city's most impressive buildings become canvases for a series of iridescent and immersive light projections.

Since its inception in 2006, Illuminating York has led to iconic buildings such as York Minster, St Mary's Abbey and the Yorkshire Museum being used as backdrops for technicolour artworks.

As well as the projections themselves, a series of talks and seminars allow further opportunities to engage with the creative concepts behind the festival.
