Bulgaria

Higher education follows the Bologna system, with ECTS credits:

professional bachelor (професионален бакалавър) – at least 180 ECTS, 3 years,
bachelor (бакалавър) – 3–4 years,
master (магистър) – from one to 5 years, depending on the programme,
doctorate – 3–4 years.

Integrated (single-cycle) medical programmes also lead to a master's degree: at the Medical University of Varna, medicine and dentistry take 6 years and pharmacy 5 years.
